Niblet is the smallest of the Texas gopher tortoises at RCI. Another rescue from Gina’s Heart of Gold, he had been nibbled on (hence his name), probably by a dog, and has some rough edges and a missing gular projection. Fortunately, that does not seem to bother him. When RCI received Niblet he was so shy he would immediately retract into his shell when he saw a human. Now that he has settled into life at RCI, he is ready and waiting to be fed, head extended when we arrive with breakfast.
